More Wool Pennies and Kitchen Dreams

I've continued to work on wool pennies for a mat.  I have a wooden corner cupboard and I want to make a mat for each shelf, probably all different.  For my first one I plan to use a soft green burlap for the backing and earthy colors for the pennies.  I may also add tabs to the front to hang down, we'll see.
These are the pennies I've completed so far.  I do a few at a time so I don't get bored.
I cut the half dollar size then the quarter size and finish with the dime size.  I layer them and stitch through the center and tack between layers so they don't shift.  I'm loving the new wool felt I purchased, such great colors.  And it is not as fuzzy as the craft felt from Walmart (which is made from recycled plastic bottles, pretty cool.)
I guess I am in a colonial era frame of mind as I recently found and purchased this book.
I'm just starting to read it but a quick glance through of the photos has piqued my interest that much more.  I hope to have a colonial looking kitchen one day and would like to 'hide' the modern appliances.
It will live on the shelf next to this favorite book:
Maybe one day I'll even have a fireplace or woodburning stove.
