These red puff balls are my favorite flowers in the garden. There are 4 this year, one is done blooming already.
These are called blood lillies. The leaves grow most of the year here, just a very plain pair of leaves. Then the leaves die back and stalks pop up and burst into these fiery red balls.
And I am so pleased that 2 rather spindly elderberry bushes are blooming this year. I thought they had died so this is wonderful surprise. I want to gather some of the berries to try and grow some more.

I've never heard of those puff lilies. Amazing and beautiful.
The red puff balls are amazing! I've never seen them before and I find them really intriguing.
