I've used the boxed broths - AND THEY ARE NOT BROTH. I imagine they just get the water hot and pass a chicken over the pot.
I believe you have the way of it, its not worth the money you pay for it. I used to use a lot of the Knorr powdered bullion, but it has so much stuff in it I don't want anymore.
