How To Read Your Produce Labels

Take a look at the stickers on the produce you buy.  They're not just so the cashier knows how to ring it up, they can tell you what you are intending to eat.

4 numbers mean it was conventionally grown, probably with pesticides.

5 numbers starting with 8 means it is a genetically modified food (GMO).

5 numbers starting with 9 means it was organically grown without pesticides or GMOs.

I had no idea those annoying fruit labels contained this valuable information. I won't complain about them now but will read them instead. Thanks!!!
