I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Day celebration whether it is a large or small gathering.
Since I have ancestors that came to Plimouth a few years after the Mayflower landed I thought I would gather some artwork featuring the pilgrim's 1st thanksgiving for you.
My ancestors apparently knew how to have a good time as John Cole ran the first ordinary (tavern) in Plimouth. He did get in trouble a few times for selling liquor on Sundays and to the natives.
These photos are from the reconstructed Plimouth Plantation.
They are not my photos, I have not been there yet, but hope to go one day. I gathered these from Google.
Since I have Indian or Native Americans in my ancestry as well, I thought it only right to have a nice picture of the native ladies.
The movies and documentaries always show the native men teaching the Englishmen how to grow corn and such, but my understanding is that the women did most of the gardening so I think the native women showed them how it was done!
