Its Raining Cats & Dogs & ............

If I could figure out how to post a video here after I figure out how to make one with the camera, you would see that this is rain...pouring down rain.
We are getting the dirty side of Hurricane Alex that landed way south of us.  That means we get lots of rain and street flooding.  The bayous will overflow, the rivers will spill out of their banks and people will drive stupidly.
Ah, life on the Gulf Coast of Texas.
Could be worse, we could have gotten the hurricane landing here, let's not and say we did, maybe we won't get any here this year.  Fingers crossed.

Austin is getting it too and NO ONE knows how to drive in the rain!! :)

Cousin in Houston says the roads are flooding severely over there. But you are right, at least we didn't get the Hurricane here!

I remember watching Hurricane Ike peel off part of my roof and the torrents of rain pouring in and thinking that I don't ever want to go through this again. I traded the sub-tropic Gulf Coast for the sub-arctic mountains of Maine. Frankly, I'll take a blizzard over a hurricane any day. I'm keeping Canterbury Cottage in my prayers. I hope this 'dirty little sidewinder' leaves you alone except for the drubbing.
